Collecting Moments in Berlin ♡ Germany Travel Diary Part 2 ♡

I am back with Part 2 of my Berlin Travel Diary featuring le little brother! ♡ If you haven't read Part 1 yet, you can do so here! :)

On day 2, we decided to do some museum hopping and made our way from our hotel to Museum Island.

Museum Island is an island in Berlin where you can find the most famous museums in the City side by side each other. The museum buildings on the Island are gorgeous and the island complex is part of the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites ♡

*Our new home - weeeeee!*

We did not want to spend the entire day on Museum Island so we decided to only visit one of the many museums there - the Pergamonmuseum.

We were greeted by some impressive Babylonian walls...

As well as the Roman Market Gate of Miletus!

We also passed by the Berlin Cathedral - another stunning architecture in the area ♡

We were on our way to lunch when we realised we reached the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe.

It definitely has an eerie vibe to it - but a memorial worth going for sure.

I was feeling pretty sombre for the most part when reading about the Memorial and WWII - though my Starbucks clearly cheered me up in the boiling weather :P

And on we went until we arrived our lunch place on Charlotte Street :)

We decided to have German cuisine, and probably got way too excited when ordering our food.

Our food came, and we definitely ordered way too much for two :O That being said - the pork knuckle was amazing.

And so was the currywurst! ♡

After lunch, we walked around the area and visited one of my absolute favourite chocolate stores in the universe - Rita Sport! <3

I remember being crazyyy obsessed with Rita Sport chocolates as a kid, and being in a Rita Sport flagship store surrounded by three floors of chocolates made me feel like a kid in a candy store (QUITE LITERALLY). They also have a 'make your own Rita Sport' service in store where you get to customise your own chocolate bar, which I took full advantage of :D

And we moved on to more chocolates! We arrived Rausch Schokoladenhaus - a fancy chocolate shop right around the corner renowned for their chocolates in Berlin.

There are chocolate sculptures all around the shop, and we ended up leaving with a few boxes of chocolates as souvenirs for family and friends.

We left the chocolate shops after too much eating and tasting, and made our way to the Brandenburg Gate! :)

To be completely honest, I was slightly disappointed because the Brandenburg Gate on the day had some sort of event going on and the bottom part of the gate was completely blocked by what looked like a stage :/ We took a few photos and then left to get on with our journey because 1) it was too hot (like the sun directly targeting our heads with no air-con to be felt anywhere type of hot) and 2) there were way too many tourists around for us to actually enjoy the site.

And so... we decided moving to an air-con filled place retail therapy was the way to go and arrived at the Berlin Mall, which is full of high street shops and is an excellent shopping destination :D

We had a browse in some of the shops, and my brother found a pair of sneakers that - according to him - were completely sold out in London, but just happened to be in stock in Berlin!

After our shopping session, we headed to our last tourist spot - the Sony Centre - an entertainment complex known for their unique glass ceiling :) I think the ceiling would look even more beautiful when it is illuminated at night, but it wasn't going to get dark until 8pm, so we decided that a late afternoon visit would do.

And that completes our Berlin adventure! ♡ We had an amazing time in Berlin and left for Copenhagen the next day :D

I hope you enjoyed this Berlin Travel Diary and I cannot wait to be back to share with you all my Copenhagen and Sweden travel adventures! Meanwhile, I hope you are having a fabulous week <3
