Life Update: Valentine's Weekend & Outfit, Dinner at Home, Sunday Roast, Shopping Ban! ♡

Yesterday was Valentine's Day and it also happened to be me and le boyfriend's four year anniversary :) Instead of eating out in a restaurant like we do every year, we decided this year to cook our own Valentine's Day dinner instead for a change ♡ I really liked the idea of cooking our own dinner because we have never cooked for a special occasion before and I have been seeing tons of Valentine's Day home and dinner decor ideas online (especially on Pinterest) which I want to try.

Even though we were only going to eat at home, I still wanted to look nice since it was like two special occasions in one for us and I ended up picking out this pink dress ♡ I love that the skater style of the dress looks really girly and cute but the open back makes it more unique and romantic :)

Since I was being extra cheesy, I wrote our "Dinner Menu" and put it inside a frame as decor ♡ We cooked scallops for the starter and had seafood linguine as our main course :) I was also trying to be a little fancier with the plating of the food :P After watching countless episodes of Masterchef I thought it would be a waste not to put what I have learnt from watching the show to use hehe ♡

Le boyfriend also brought champagne and flowers which was perfect and we had a super relaxing night in :) Since we both have to go to Uni on Monday, we decided to have our special dinner on Saturday night instead so that we can just chill on Sunday :) Overall I was very impressed by the food we managed to put up :D

On Sunday we woke up really late so we just had a huge plate of fruits for breakfast; plus there was champagne leftover so that became our breakfast too :P ♡ Afterwards, we decided to get some Sunday Roast at a restaurant called Le Secret des Rôtisseurs in Canary Wharf since it is quite close to where I live :) To be completely honest, the food was pretty mediocre and not as good as we expected (not really worth £17 per plate) but it was fine since we were just looking for some comfort food on a late Sunday afternoon :) We probably will be trying a new place next time though!

And that was me and le bf's Valentine's weekend! :) I am definitely on a shopping ban from now on as I bought quite a lot of dresses and makeup for myself on the days leading up to Valentine's Day :P It would be hard but both my bank account and I definitely need a break from the semi-reckless shopping I did haha! ♡ Hope you all had a nice weekend and thank you for listening to me ramble about my cheesy romantic weekend ♡
